WHAT IS WALLPAPER? Wallpaper™ is an interior decoration program for your Mac’s desktop, allowing you to display, create, edit and save an unlimited number of large desktop patterns in up to 256 colors or in black and white. You can make your own patterns either by utilizing the unique Wallpaper features or by working in your favorite graphics programs. If you don’t want to create your own patterns, you can choose among hundreds of desktop patterns which come with Wallpaper, and registered owners can subscribe to our service to receive at least two disks a year which will contain many patterns (see Subscription and Contest notes). Wallpaper is a Control Panel device, also known as a cdev, which provides expanded tools to help you generate and edit color patterns up to 128 pixels on a side, while the General cdev limits you to an 8x8 pixel pattern. You can store up to eleven desktop patterns for quick reference in the Wallpaper window itself, (not counting the installed pattern) and save any number in external files. The patterns you create from the commercial program can be freely distributed and traded; they can be used by any Wallpaper owner. ON WHICH MACS DOES IT RUN? Wallpaper runs only on the SE/30, the LC, the Mac II series, the Quadra 700 and 900, and the PowerBook 140 and 170 series. Wallpaper requires System 6.0.5 and above or System 7.0 or above.
